How did you come to decide on having a destination wedding?
We had weighed the options of doing something local but remembered our friends who married in Jamaica and remembered how much fun it was. We’ve seen the stresses of weddings stateside and did not want to start our lives together with stress.
Aside from marrying the love of your life, what was the best part of your destination wedding?
Being on vacation with all of our friends and family! It was the most amazing thing to not only marry each other; we got to do it in a beautiful place! It was stress free and fun, exactly how we wanted to begin our lives with one another.
What comments have you heard from guests about their wedding experience?
Everyone loved our wedding; many of our friends said they wished they would have done a destination wedding and/or are now considering it!
Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?
We would have used a different photographer. They seemed to be new and could not figure out lighting or poses. Many of our photos were great but I think a professional from home would have been much better. And the photographer on property took much longer than the time frame given to return our photos.
What advice would you give to couples considering a Hard Rock destination wedding?
Be patient; planning doesn’t start for about 30-60 days prior to your actual wedding date which can be difficult to plan any stationary you are taking. The sales office was hard to work with and get a hold of but be patient and make sure you get what you want. The coordinators on property are absolutely fabulous and made us feel like we were the only wedding there! It’s worth the wait!
